A member asked:

Is going 10 days free from alcohol is a good sign that i don't have a drinking problem or not? (i was drinking every 3 or 4 days drinks)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Alcohol problem?: Congratulations on not drinking alcohol for 10 days if you think you have a problem. However, abstaining from alcohol does not necessarily mean you are free from alcohol dependence. Many an AA member has 'fallen off the wagon' after a much longer time sober. A more detailed history is needed to assess your risk properly. Talk to your doctor. See: http://www.helpguide.org/articles/addiction/alcoholism-and-alcohol-abuse.htm I hope this helps. Best wishes.
