A member asked:

Left ribs are normal until lower 3, a large gap separate them from the higher ones & they also seem to be deeper/pushed inward. what could this be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal rib anatomy: No worries. That's completely normal. The ribs are not all the same size. They get smaller as they go down, and the lower ones are connected to each other by cartilage, rather than being connected to the breastbone like the higher ones. The last two ribs actually "float", i.e. are not attached to anything in the front, so if you are thin, you may be able to feel the tips of them on your sides.
