Re do US: From what you described you are pregnant. It is imperative that you get tested again by ultrasound to rule out ectopic pregnancy. Repeating HCG levels will also help in determining if the pregnancy is in the uterus or extra-uterine.

Pregnancy: A serum HCG concentration of 540 indicates that there is a pregnancy. The level will have to rise to about 1500 before a pregnancy can be visualized in the uterus by trans vag US. HCG concentrations double every 48 hours - so if the HCG concentration is 540 today, in 4 days the pregnancy can be seen in the uterus. If not, then there is concern for a non viable or a tubal pregnancy.
