A member asked:

Is hair naturally thinner at the crown and/or more light shines on the scalp there? and why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Both: Hair does naturally part on the crown but significant thinning is genetic and is usually a precursor to male pattern baldness. You may have a family history of this. Medication in the form of Rogaine (minoxidil) spray can be helpful in treating early baldness in the crown. Discuss this with your physician.
