Breaking the fast: Try reducing the size of your breakfast and the pace. Your stomach jsut may not be ready when you wake. A lot of people have this issue. But you should still eat something to reduce the activity of catabolic hormones (cortisol). Complex proteins require more gastric activity to break down than carbs so you could lower your protein at breakfast to see if that helps.
