A member asked:

Hi, i was wondering if it is normal to have frequent reoccurring bronchitis incidents? over the span of a couple months?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bronchitis misnomer.: Technically speaking, acute bronchitis is a self-limited viral infection, so we should not be getting this repeatedly over and over again. Chronic bronchitis would behave this way, but this is related to a longstanding history of smoking. Maybe there is another underlying lung issue at play here. Or some other type of infection.
