Keep in mind that...: ...pupils dilate and constrict automatically with changes in the amount of environmental light. If you're looking in a mirror and you shine a flashlight in your eyes, your pupils should constrict (get smaller). If they don't and/or if your eyes hurt when light hits your eyes, you should see an eye doctor. Best wishes. Dr. Anne
