A member asked:

First trimester, sometimes my belly and hands are hot. body temperature is 98f. is it normal? can it be harmful to the baby?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, no: A sensation of warmth without a fever is not indicative of any risk to a pregnancy or developing baby. The body does go through many expected changes in pregnancy including hormone levels and changes in the circulatory system that can cause hot flashes, flushing or excess sweating that can seem to come in waves. Most women experience these symptoms to varying degrees.
