May be normal: One of the side effects of birth control pills may be much lighter menstrual periods. Even spotting can be a normal period while on the pill. Periods while on the pill are drug induced from withdrawal of the hormones during the last week of the pill pack. You may need to change the pill type to induce menstrual bleeding.
