Break thru bleeding: is bleeding while taking the active or hormone pills instead of during the placebo week. It is common and not worrisome, and usually resolves after several months of taking the bcp. If not, then a change to a different brand of bcp maybe helpful to give more predictability to bleeding. If taken consistently, the contraceptive effect should be stable in spite of the break through bleeding.
