A member asked:

Is it bad to eat a whole mango for a one off. also is it bad to suck the mango pit/seed and is it bad to eat a tiny bit of the skin?

No. No. No.: People eat one mango at a time, the entire mango. Here in California, we buy them by the box, which is about 18-24 mangoes. Nibbling all the good stuff off the pit is what we do. A few people like a little bit of the skin for flavor; most people just toss the skin. As long as a person is not allergic to mango flesh, skin, or sap, it's fine to eat a mango.
