I am taking levlen (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) ed and i still have a week and a half until my period is due to start but i am starting to have some spotting.

Normal: Assuming you haven't skipped any days, spotting is probably "break-through bleeding" which can happen with all pills but a little more frequently with the low-dose pills like Levlen (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel). Break-through bleeding does not decrease the effectiveness of the pill as long as you continue taking it regularly as usual. If happens often and bothersome consider switching to higher dose pill.
