Depends: A pacemaker is implanted in cases of cardiac arrhythmia where the heart rate is too slow either constantly or in intermittent patterns often causing fainting or severe lightheadedness. Your physician or cardiologist who knows all your findings can advise you best and determine what kind of cardiac rhythm disturbance( after appropriate monitoring),if any, you have.

Let us not jump: To the conclusion here. There are benign arrhythmia and younger one is more benign condition one has. It is the slow heart rate which sometimes need pacemaker. So you should fine out what is happening with your HR. If it is fast or slow and then if it regular or irregular. Continuous or intermittent. What are the trigger factors. Talk to your doctor about this. Good luck.
