Not urologic: I don't think his getting up at night to urinate was the cause of his passing out. He needs to see his family physician or internist to evaluate for heart or circulatory issues

Micturition syncope: Micturition syncope is passing out shortly after peeing. It is not related to heart disease, but anytime a patient has the new onset of passing out, it is vital to have a workup done immediately to rule out heart disease and other potential causes. He needs to see his doctor ASAP! No delay. In the meantime he should urinate only while seated. Good luck.
