Not to worry: A SLIGHT INCREASE IN THE PERCENT OF MONOCYTES MOST OFTEN MEANS NOTHING IN THE ABSENCE OF SYMPTOMS. The monocyte count can also be elevated due to any infection or inflammation in the body, myeloproliferative disorders and cancer.
