Possibly, yes: Transmission of group A beta streptococcus (the casue of strep throat) to the genital area probably is rare, but it could happen. I would also be concerned that he could have something else in addition to (or instead of) strep throat. The greatest concern would be if he happens to have initial oral herpes. Probably not, but in any case you should see your doctor about this ASAP. Good luck!

Yes: Group A strep is an occasional cause of genital infections.Sometimes you will find shallow strep filled blisters in the area. I test any raw areas with the same material I use for a strep throat test.It could also be other agents. It is worth a visit to sort it out.
