Can you have a period before a confirmed pregnancy test ?

Kinda, sorta . . .: By definition, your period/menses represents cyclical shedding of your uterine lining. However, period/menses is not the only cause of bleeding. In fact, implantation spotting is often mistaken for period/menses. So while you can't have a period immediately before testing positive, you can bleed/spot.
