Clothing in layers: A nuclear catastrophe is not imminent. The world is not going to end from radiation, heat waves, tornadoes, typhoons, lightening, floods, earthquakes, cold wave or any thing else like that. Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.

Dont drive on Ice: You can loose complete control when driving on ice - it has happened to me a couple of times. With snow best to have all wheel vehicle, but if snow a foot high need 4-wheel vehicle. Driving in winter storms is not for the faint of heart, I will not do it unless in an emergency. Time to call in sick. .

Keep warm: Keep yourself warm with multiple layers of clothing. Also make sure that you do not have to leave the house for trivial errands.
