Up to a year: If you mean Depot provera (medroxyprogesterone) injections for birth control, it can take up to a year, before regular menstrual periods resume and indicate that ovulation occurs on a regular basis. Ovulation itself can happen at any time and does not have to be preceded by a menstrual period. In other words: with unprotected intercourse you could get pregnant any time.
