A member asked:

How long is it supposed to it take birth control to prevent pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

4 to 30 days: Oral contraceptives, scientifically, take 4 doses to be effective. However, i highly recommend using backup (condoms) for the entire first cycle on the pills. This helps make sure that you are taking them correctly. Also, remember, that pills dont stop stds, so use condoms as well at all times if you are at risk.
