Sore Throat: 90% of sore throats are caused by a virus and are not strep throat. If you are a smoker, do not smoke. Sore throat can be helped with some soothing beverages like orange tea, salt water gargles, use Aleve (naproxen) for pain control, and try some zinc lozenges. You can use a humidifier if you have one. If pain persists, or you get a fever, see a doctor. Stay hydrated as well. Good luck.
