Protect yourself: The pregnancy test should be accurate. Pregnancy is unlikely given that you had a period, even if the flow was lighter than usual. If you had unprotected sex, you should be tested for STDs. If you don't want to be pregnant, use reliable birth control. Also, consistently use condoms to protect yourself from sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Period: periods commonly alter in appearance,consistency and length .If you have a neg. pregnancy test I would wait for my next period to occur
