A member asked:

Does the amociclav 500 affect the reliability of the yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) pill?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) should be same: The current thinking is that except for rifampin, other commonly-used antibiotics do not alter the effectiveness of birth control pills such as Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol). This is likely presuming a person is not sick with vomiting or diarrhea, or some other condition that decreases the absorption of a swallowed pill.
