Sunburn: A sunburn may last several days. Initially painful and red, it fades and peels. If blisters form or redness does not fade seek medical attention.

That depends: How long it lasts depends on the degree of solar damage. Aloe vera (aloe barbadensis) can reduce redness, pain, itching & swelling from a burn. It has anesthetic, anti-inflammatory & antibacterial / antifungal qualities. It speeds burn healing by stimulating growth of new skin. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories and acetomenophen can be very helpful. Hydrate well & don't peel off any deep layers.
