Can you contract oral herpes from eating food prepared by someone with a cold sore?

Absolutely not: HSV is not transmitted through food or even though shared drinking glasses, utensils, etc. If no intimate contact with someone with oral herpes (e.g. kissing, oral sex) you are not at risk -- even if you share a house, kitchen, and bathroom with that person. Don't worry about it.
