I got the depo shot 11/17/2015 on the day my period starts.my period stays for 5 days each month and never a day longer. i continue to bleed and it won't stop since the depo shot. please tell me what can i do to stop the bleeding?

Can happen: Irregularly irregular bleeding is a very common side effect of Depot Provera, (medroxyprogesterone) hopefully it will subside soon.

Bleeding: This is typical bleeding seen with depo provera (medroxyprogesterone). It usually gets better by shot 2, and stops by shot 3. I usually ad a little oral provera at bedtime to help decrease the bleeding. However, I also warn all of my patients of this potential issue with depo provera (medroxyprogesterone) before they get it too.
