Potentially: There are long term effects of birth control pills. It has been shown, for example, that women, who have been on birth control pills for 5 years or longer less often suffered from ovarian cancer - good news. If you want to know, whether taking bcp interferes with the ability to get pregnant after discontinuation, the answer is : No - there is not even a lag period in getting pregnant.

No: There are no long term effects from the use of oral contraception except a reduction in ovarian cancer risk which is beneficial. Once you stop the pill, your fertility will be what it was prior to its' use and pregnancy is again possible. Quite the contrary, if you stop taking the pill or use it sporadically, unintended pregnancy risk is higher.
