About now: To avoid having another pregnancy before even getting a period after delivery, couples must avoid sex until good birth control method(s) are begun. That means a new mom must use contraception or stay away from that penis. Having a normal-looking period now means one is not pregnant, and is a good time to start birth control pills (if the doctor had said pills are fine for the particular patient).
