Pediculosis pubis: Pediculosis pubis is treated with topical pediculicides. Based upon safety and ease of use, treatment is with topical permethrin 1% or a product containing pyrethrins with piperonyl butoxide. Treatment should be repeated after 9 to 10 days if lice remain. Sexual partners should be treated simultaneously. Bedding and clothing should be laundered in hot water.
