A member asked:

Instead of using ibuprofen for period cramps can i use magnesium and tylenol (acetaminophen) and get a similar effect?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely to help: Ibuprofen has a direct effect on the chemicals releases during period cramps. It acts at the source to shut them down as much as possible. Tylenol (acetaminophen) has no similar action. The magnesium may give you comfort but may also give you the squirts.Try if you wish, but I see little chance it would help.
