Zoloft (sertraline): Yes, it could be a side effect. I would suggest speaking with the prescribing physician of taking it at night.

Yes it likely is.: Sedation is a less common side effect but occurs in 13-15% of patients; it may or may not resolve over time. Zoloft (sertraline) has a 26 hour half life, so it doesn't matter what time you take the medication it will stay in your system and not washout over the course of the day or the night for that matter. Talk to your doctor about this somnolence and get his/her recommendations.
