A member asked:

Is it really possible to get pregnant after tubes have been tied for a while(over6-12months) even though been having unprotected sex & not preg yet..?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tubal failure: Failure of tubal ligation does happen in women of all ages, who had their tubes tied. The CREST study showed that women under the age of 27 have an up t 20 fold higher risk of tubal ligation failure than women over the age of 35. About 1/3 of tubal ligation failures end with a tubal pregnancy, a potentially life-threatening condition.
