Of course: There is no part of the human body that is intended to be rubbed constantly, or can tolerate constant rubbing, without causing damage. The feet are rugged, and develop thicker skin in response to constant walking on bare feet... and thus are probably the only parts of the body that can withstand constant friction. However, even feet can eventually be damaged.
