Simplest explanation: Constant use of the hands for fine work such as drawing can result in carpal tunnel syndrome. That could be the reason you have altered sensation in the hand, assuming it is your dominant one. If you have an occupation that requires you use your hands you are at higher risk. A physician can diagnose this in the office. If this happened suddenly, then an urgent evaluation is reasonable for stroke.
