No but: Inflammatory bowel diseases may be associated with elevation in CRP or ESR- both markers of inflammation. However these measurements are not specific to the bowel.

Not specifically: A number of general tests (Sedimentation Rate, C-Reactive Protein) can indicate inflammation but is not specific for intestinal inflammation. Hope this helps! Dr Z

Yes there is: there is many different blood test to detect inflammation in the bowels, the problem they are not very specific. the gastroenterologist used the blood test, your symptoms, the findings in the physical examination, and the visualization of the inflammation by endoscopy to determined the exact kind of inflammation mainly crohn disease VS ulcerative colitis. then plan the right treatment plan.
