Abdominal pain: Causes of right upper abdominal pain include but are not limited to: Bile duct inflammation; gallstones; gallbladder cancer; gastritis; hepatitis; kidney infection, stone or cancer; hiatal hernia; peptic ulcer, pericarditis; liver hemangioma, abscess or cancer; fecal impaction; bowel obstruction & injury. It is best to have chronic abd pain evaluated. Severe abdominal pain = ER.
