A member asked:

Do irregular periods (not on birth control) mean you will have problems getting pregnant later in life?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: It is common in the teenage years to have irregular periods that often become more regular over time. Most people still can get pregnant without problems. However, you should see a doctor for a few tests such as thyroid and an exam to make sure there is nothing causing the irregular cycles that can/needs to be treated now even when not trying to get pregnant.
