I have been getting pin prick sensations in my thighs when the temperature drops to even a little cold what could this be?

Reflex: I would consider this a reflexive reaction to a drop in body temperature similar to goose bumps and/or an irritability of the superficial nerves of the thighs also on cold exposure.I don't think this reaction is indicative of any neurological pathology.

After a 4 mile walk in cool weather ( 40s) I had strange reaction on both thighs. Intense itching like legs were on fire, little prickly sensations. Lasted about 30 min. Used hydrocortisone and after an hour looked ok . Any ideas?
