Varicose vein: This has not much to do with your previous perineal lacerations but instead, has more to do with your predisposition to getting varicose veins. Usually more prominent on left labia majora. Differs with placental location, how low the baby is, number of pregnancies, etc. There are some pregnancy belts/slings that claim to decrease the swelling and discomfort. Try side-lying on opposite side.
