Is it normal for my vagina to smell like cooked potatoes after my period?

BV? STD?: Odor is subjective. One person's "cooked potatoes" might be another's "barnyard", "fishy", etc. If new and abnormal for you, see a doctor. The main cause of strong, abnormal vaginal odor is bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria. BV is not an STD, but STDs are more common in women with BV. And your topic tags show STDs are on your mind, so check it out for sure.
