Is fusidic acid or gentamicin more suitable for paronychia? for mild cases, is oral antibiotics necessary?

Depends on cause: Most paronychia is caused by staph or strep and oral augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) or cephalexin will work well. For methicillin resistant staph Bactrim or doxycycline will work well.
