A member asked:

As a child i was told that bumps my legs were caused by over reproductive skin cells n wen i wear pants it flairs up what is this n y does it do that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bumps on legs: People with sensitive, dry skin often have dryness in the hair follicles as well. That results in tiny red bumps on backs of arms and on legs that feels like sandpaper. That is keratosis pilaris (kp), which can be exacerbated by friction, such as from pants or shaving. Scrubbing kp can actually make it worse. Moisturizers, especially those containing a small amt of Alpha hydroxy acid may help.
