Trust the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

My period is now 3 days late and I took three pregnancy tests and they all were negative. Is there a chance I still could be pregnant?

Possibly: Get a pregnancy test in 1 week. The calibration of the kit you are using may not be able to detect pregnancy that early

A 19-year-old female asked:

I got my period 3 days late and so far it's normal. I took an at home pregnancy test 30 days after sex and it was negative. Could I still be pregnant?

Not likely: All signs are pointing to "not pregnant". 30 days after a single intercourse episode is definitely long enough to know if you have conceived or not. Home urine tests for pregnancy are very accurate these days. There is a natural variation in menstrual cycle length. I wouldn't be worried if it was just 3 days late. If you're still worried you could always try a different brand of preg test.

I am 9 days past my period i took a pregnancy test can it was negative . Can i still be pregnant?

Yes: Most tests won't pick it up that early. Many start being accurate about 2 weeks after the missed period. Check your first urine of the morning. It is the most concentrated and accurate for upt.

Wait to retest...: A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. If a woman gets her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and a test is not needed.
