Yes: Chlamydia can be present for years without symptoms. But you may have gotten it from him, too. This is why it is important for both partners to get checked between partners and 1, 3, 6 months, and even a year after beginning a new relationship. Also condoms and other safe sex practices prevent STD's, when used properly.

Yes: Women and men can be infected with chlamydia without having symptoms. Chlamydia is a major cause of infertility in women, because it can cause damage without symptoms. That is why it is recommended that all women under 25yrs old get screened for chlamydia annually. Make sure you and your partner complete appropriate treatment, then wait at least 7 days before resuming sex and practice safe sex.
