Guttate psoriasis: Guttate psoriasis is thought to be activation of psoriasis due to a strep infection. It may last a long time. It can improve with anti-strep antibiotics and uv light treatments. Many times these treatments can put guttate psoriasis into remission. Other skin conditions can look like guttate psoriasis. Please see your dermatologist.

Guttate Psoriasis: The trigger to the disease is often a streptococcal (bacterial) infection. The eruption of the lesions on the skin usually happens within two to three weeks of strep throat.Sunlight can help clear up this type of psoriasis. The ultraviolet (uv) light in sunlight helps to reduce psoriasis symptoms in some people. Phototherapy or topical steroids or biologics are helpful for therapy.
