Sore: Probably you have contact dermatitis to the metal that you use in the jewelry. Avoidance is the best option.

Or wet with discharge.Or smells bad.Especially if you just had it pierced.Or just banged it on the banister as you fell down the stairs high on Ripple.Ear piercings get sore all the time.Irritated by friction or traction or actually infected (see above).If so, take it out till it heals.
