A hemorrhoid: is just a dilated vein, like a varicose vein, located around the anus. They are not dangerous but do require some management. They are formed, and made worse,by pushing( like when trying to pass a hard stool,or a baby).Avoid pushing by a daily intake of fiber so that your BM's are soft and regular. Also,no prolonged sitting on the toilet. If irritated,c ur doc.

First of all: Hemorrhoids are NEVER "Malignant" and they are not "pleasant" to have but they are not DANGEROUS! Good bowel hygiene and proper diet will help and your Primary Care Provider can outline these suggestions to you! Worse case scenario is hemorrhoid surgery but this is usually NOT necessary!! Hope this helps!!! Good Luck! Dr Z
