A member asked:

I have lost a lot of weight lately and consequently haven't had a period in 3 months (not pregnant) will this effect my fertility in the future?

Evaluation: Losing weight should not cause a lack of periods unless weight loss is severe and malnourishment becomes an issue. I would schedule visit for an evaluation. Thyroid and other testing should be done. Your chart mentions you are breastfeeding. If this is correct then this can cause a lack of periods.
