Nerve: Most likely this is an irritability of a nerve emanating from the neck called the occipital nerve. AT times This nerve also causes pain in that distribution. Disc problems,arthritic spurs may cause impingement of this nerve, but often there is no obvious reason for the irritability. You could consult a neurologist if you have further concerns but at this time your symptom appears more of a nuisanc
