A member asked:

In layman's terms what does this mean? prominent calcified mediastinal and hilar lymph nodes and scattered calcified granulomas in both lungs. heart

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Changes in tissue: These changes mean that some of the tissue of the heart and lungs is not the normal way it usually looks on xray. When tissue is damaged by infection or inflammation sometimes calcium builds in those areas and forms scars or when the body is trying to heal itself it forms a barrier around an abnormal area. The lymph nodes filters things out of the body and can get enlarged.
